Two North Carolina billionaires landed on Forbes 400 list for 2026, placing them among the richest people in America.
SAS co-founders James Goodnight and John Sall had a combined net worth of $16.7 billion as of Sept. 4, according to the annual rankings. Despite a dip in wealth from previous years, both remain part of an ultra-wealthy club of tech giants, investors, energy tycoons and more.
Forbes editors noted “there are big gains all around, with 34 newcomers breaking into the ranks despite the minimum net worth soaring to an unprecedented $4.4 billion, up from $3.8 billion in 2025.”…
