Reward offered for ‘armed and dangerous’ man in Smithfield murder over lost cellphone, police say

SMITHFIELD, N.C. (WNCN) – Smithfield police are offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to a murder suspect’s arrest. On Jan. 22, officers responded to a shooting in the 2200 block of Kay Drive near an apartment complex just off U.S. 301. Smithfield police said an altercation broke out between the suspect and the victim over a misplaced cellphone, and the victim was shot.
