Habitual trespasser shot by resident in Durham County, sent to hospital after deputies broke up fight

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – On a man’s third attempt at trespassing at a private home, a shooting and fight took place along NC Hwy. 751 in Durham Thursday evening. Just after 5:30 p.m., patrol deputies with the Durham County Sheriff’s Office were initially called to the 8200 block of NC 751 on reports of a trespasser at a private residence. The trespasser, identified by the resident as Brandon Collins, had left by time deputies arrived.
