A new study by Pizzello.com has added fresh flavours to the never-ending search for the best pizza in the United States. This in-depth study looked at the average Google reviews of pizzerias in the 500 most populous places in the United States. It found that several North Carolina towns have great pizza.
Seven towns in the state were ranked as having the best pizzerias in the country. At No. 18, Raleigh was the best city in North Carolina on the list.
“Raleigh melds traditional pizza-making with a penchant for local flair, including Carolina-grown tomatoes and local cheeses, resulting in a pizza that’s both familiar and distinctively Raleigh,” an excerpt from the study said.
- Raleigh, NC is ranked 18th nationwide and is praised for its conventional yet distinctive local flavours. its average rating is 4.52 out of 5
- Gastonia, Wilmington, and Winston-Salem are also included in the top 100, ranking at positions 32, 44, and 92, respectively.
- Rock Hill, High Point, and Cary have achieved a position in the top 200, demonstrating the extensive pizza expertise of North Carolina.
