According to a new report published by WRAL, 40 cancer cases are connected to people who spent time at a building in NC State University.
According to the report, Five On Your Side spent “11 weeks investigating Poe Hall and has independently confirmed 40 cases of cancer in people who spent time at the Poe Hall, including several deaths.”. According to the report, NC State closed Poe Hall after testing revealed that there were high levels of PCBs (Polychlorinated Biphenyls) in a “women’s restroom, a door gasket, the air handler, and more.”.
Those toxic chemicals are linked to cancer. According to the report, NC State even sent a letter to a federal agency asking them to stop investigating “potentially high rates of cancer” at Poe Hall.
