I-40 reopens after motorcycles crash at Wade Avenue merge area; 1 taken to hospital, police say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A crash involving motorcycles closed westbound lanes of Interstate 40 near Wade Avenue in Raleigh for about 45 minutes Saturday afternoon, causing traffic to back up for two miles on I-40. The wreck was reported around 1:20 p.m. along Wade Avenue (Mile Marker 289) heading west at the merge area with Interstate 40 west.
