Siemens Is Expanding in NC and Will Add 559 Jobs

According to a new report published by Business NC, Siemens will be expanding its operations in NC and will be adding 559 jobs. According to the report, the company will be building a manufacturing site in Mecklenburg County for large power transformers – the first plant of its kind in America.

According to the article, the job will create 475 direct operating jobs, 285 construction jobs in Charlotte, and an additional 84 jobs for its location in Raleigh.

Tim Holt, a member of the executive board of Siemens Energy, released a statement saying “Manufacturing large transformers in the United States will strengthen and expand our electrical grid to incorporate more renewable energy and meet growing energy demand. We are excited to do that in Charlotte, where our existing factory and incredible team are answering the call of our customers and policymakers to help protect our nation’s energy and national security.”.

Siemens is based in Munich, Germany, and has 3,500 employees throughout NC. Although it varies, the average salary for the company is $84,797 in Mecklenburg County.
