This NC Plant Is Closing Its Doors, 91 Workers Will Be Laid Off

According to a new report published by Business North Carolina, a plant located in NC will be closing its doors soon. Lopares, a Cary-based company, announced on Thursday, February 22, that the manufacturing plant would be closing.

According to the report, the layoffs will occur in two phases – the first layoffs happening on May 1 and the second on September 1. The company “uses silicone in the manufacturing of release liner solutions on a variety of paper and film substrates” used in healthcare and other industries.

Rich Holder, the CEO of Loparex, said that the decision to close the plant was a “difficult one”. The company stated that it will help affected employees transition and find new employment.
