HBCU coach honored with President’s Lifetime Achievement Award

North Carolina Central University men’s basketball coach LeVelle Moton is well known for his work in HBCU basketball and his philanthropy off the court. That work has been recognized and Moton will be honored with the 2024 President’s Lifetime Achievement Award later this fall. Moton was made aware of the honor in a recent letter.

“We want to inform you that your years of dedicated service to this great nation have had an influence in the lives of many. Your life’s work continues to be an influential force around the world,” the letter said in part.

This award program was established by former President George H. Bush under the Points of Light. A third party, Premiere Coalition Partners Association, LLC, is responsible as a certifying organization of the Presidential Volunteer Service Award Program to uphold the guidelines set forth by the Points of Light to award the honorees. Recipients of the award will receive a lifetime pin, a gold medallion, and a letter bearing the signature of President Joseph R. Biden, Jr.
