Mack Brown Live: Correcting, Cutting Down on Penalties

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The penalties piled up against North Carolina and reached a historic point on Saturday night, as the Tar Heels were flagged 16 times against NC Central. That mark tied a program record for most infractions in a game. Five decades ago, UNC was charged with the same number in a 1975 win over Virginia. Ten of the penalties Saturday night came during the first half, including three offside penalties committed by different members of the defensive line. The Tar Heels were called for a combined 11 penalties across their first two games of this season.
