In his first collegiate start, the true freshman completed each of his first eight passes on the way to 16 completions on 25 attempts for 204 yards, a touchdown and an interception. This game marked his first career touchdown through the air, having punched in a rushing TD against Louisiana Tech last week. That INT did result in a pick six, but that came late in the third quarter when the game was well out of hand.
