37-year-old Tyrek Burton had just gotten married to the love of his life, Kiara, on Saturday. Pictures posted online captured beautiful moments from their ceremony and reception, creating a fairytale atmosphere—until the unimaginable occurred. The groom was tragically gunned down just seven hours after saying ‘I do.’
Family members report that an unidentified individual entered the park, alleging that Burton was involved in a traffic incident. Moments later, Burton was shot in front of his new bride and several others, including his daughter, as reported by WXII 12.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene after the shooting, prompting police to continue their investigation. So far, no suspects have been identified, and authorities are still working to piece together the events that led to this tragic act of violence.
“See something, say something. It’s real simple,” his sister Brittany urged. “There’s doorbell cameras out there matching the same description. Detectives are out there. I’m out there.”
