Target, the Minnesota-headquartered big box retailer, operates nearly 2,000 stores nationwide. To service these locations, they maintain 62 supply chain facilities across the US. According to a 2022 Progressive Grocer article, Target’s grocery division alone ranks as the 6th largest in America. They truly embody the concept of a big box store.
The Target website has indicated plans for 3 new North Carolina Locations:
- Fuquay-Varina: 2901 Wallace Adcock Blvd; Approx. 148,000 sq. ft.
- Myrtle Grove: SE corner of Carolina Beach Road and Piner Road; Approx. 128,000 sq. ft.
- Selma: 551 Saint Mark Avenue; Approx. 130,000 sq. ft.
As of yet there are no grand opening dates for any of these stores. The company has this note concerning it’s ambitious expansion plans:
There’s a Target store within 10 miles of most doorsteps in America — and we’re not done yet!
