Top WR target Jamar Browder flips commitment from NC State to Michigan

Michigan has scored another key win on the recruiting trail.

Three-star Lake Worth (Fla.) Santaluces wide receiver Jamar Browder flipped his commitment from NC State to Michigan shortly after his official visit over the weekend.

“I get along with the coaches,” Browder said. “I see myself playing there and being an impact player. I think they need some help, and I can help. I liked the atmosphere there. I play better in big games and in front of more people, so I feel like it’s the type of place I need to be.”

Browder originally committed to NC State in June. However, Michigan jumped in the mix this fall and made a big push as it wanted to add more size to its wide receiver room.

Michigan wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy led the way in Browder’s recruitment and really moved the needle over the last couple of months.

“Coach Bellamy knows where I’m from and gets my lingo,” Browder said. “It’s like talking to someone from home. He was just being himself. He didn’t have a pitch. He just told me about the plays and concepts and quizzed me. I passed the test, so that was good. He said they need me. He wasn’t lying. They definitely need some size and someone that can go get it.”
