A series of vehicular events unfolded across Wake and Durham counties on Monday, causing high-speed chases and resulting in multiple arrests. According to a report by WRAL, the chase in Wake County began when a Hyundai Elantra, later discovered to be stolen, refused to stop for deputies on Interstate 40 post-rush hour. The driver lost control near Cary Towne Boulevard and the car crashed into a tree. Injuries sustained by the driver and four juvenile passengers were described as non-life-threatening.
