Chapel Hill Police Investigate Pair of Overnight Armed Robberies Reported 8 Minutes Apart

A pair of armed robberies reportedly took place less than ten minutes from each other during the early morning hours of Saturday, according to Chapel Hill Police. An alert shared by the town government and police said the pair of incidents are believed to involve the same suspects, and happened along nearly the same road. Chapel Hill Police said the first occurred at 2:21 a.m. around West Cameron Avenue and Granville Towers Lane, which is the entrance of the Granville Towers complex used by UNC students. The second reportedly happened just eight minutes later a few blocks west, in the area of Crest Drive and Knolls Street – which is in a neighborhood off South Merritt Mill Road.
