Wake Forest Power Earns National Recognition for Restoring Power in Hurricane-Hit Florida Cities

In a public recognition of service and solidarity, Wake Forest Power (WFP) has been commended by the American Public Power Association (APPA) for its efforts in restoring electricity in the wake of Hurricanes Milton and Helene, which battered Florida last year. When the storms struck, causing widespread devastation and upheaval, WFP dispatched its crews to aid the affected communities of Bartow and Ocala, providing a much-needed lifeline as part of the APPA’s Mutual Aid Network.
