Durham is set to celebrate the enduring impact of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on January 28, as the city and county come together for the annual observance program. The event, which kicks off at 11:30 a.m., will be held in the heart of downtown at First Presbyterian Church, located at 305 E. Main Street. Dr. Anthony S. Lewis, the recently appointed superintendent of Durham Public Schools, will deliver the keynote address. According to the official announcement on the City of Durham website, Lewis has over two decades of experience in education and is focused on elevating the academic achievements of Durham’s students.
