Due to lack of known visits many assumed Shaw would return to North Carolina after the hiring of Bill Belichick. Apparently it isn’t that cut and dried.
Shaw, at 6-foot-5, 330 pounds, has the size Texas covets as it looks to replace Alfred Collins , Vernon Broughton , Jermayne Lole , and Bill Norton this offseason. He also has experience the staff is looking for after appearing in 35 career games.
Texas hopes to add Shaw to its current portal haul of DT Cole Brevard , LB Brad Spence , and P Jack Bouwmeester .
Shaw, the former top-50 national recruit in the 2022 class, has 55 career tackles and 6 tackles for loss.
Here are his PFF grades by season. He’s on the right trajectory and plays a position of great need.
