Man shot during fight at Cary gas station arrested on assault charges, police say

CARY, N.C. (WNCN) – A man who was shot at a gas station parking lot in Cary last week is facing charges in connection to the shooting, police said.

According to the Cary Police Department, officers arrested 35-year-old David Anthony Trombley for his involvement in an early morning shooting at the Exxon Refuel Gas Station on Northeast Maynard Road on Jan. 30. Police said he’s charged with two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

On that day, officers responded shortly before 6 a.m. about an altercation that broke out in the gas station parking lot, resulting in Trombley getting shot, police said.

The shooter left the scene before police arrived, but went immediately to the Cary Police Department to report the incident, officials said…
