Suspect in I-40 killing denied bond in first court appearance

RALEIGH, N.C. — The man charged with the shooting death of a driver traveling on Interstate 40 near Raleigh early Friday morning made his first appearance in court Monday. A judge denied bond to the suspect, and he will be held in Wake County jail.

At Wake County District Court, the suspect, Josue Alejandro Quintanilla-Reyes, 32, was told by Judge Margaret Eagles through an interpreter that he was being charged with murder. He was given a public defender.
