A social media update from the Town of Wake Forest confirms the festival’s return next Saturday, a jam-packed Saturday celebration of community, nature, and local culture located along Festival Street and Brooks Street, downtown.
The event, hosted by Wake Forest Downtown, Inc., in collaboration with various partners including the Town of Wake Forest and the Wake Forest Historical Museum, brings entertainment and activities suitable for the entire family, from tree seedling giveaways to a paper shredding and electronics recycling event. Emphasizing the outdoors and Wake Forest’s vibrant heart, the fest serves as a collective moment to appreciate the local environment and history.
Regarding the day’s activities, one can expect an abundance of choices. Starting at 9 a.m., a shredding and recycling event will take place, ready to accept electronics in the parking lot of the Northern Wake Senior Center. Simultaneously, interactive experiences like a golf simulator, a hula hoop jam, and mini-golf course promise to keep attendees entertained. Kids can enjoy their time with activities provided by the Kerr Family YMCA, and runners have the option to participate in the Wake Forest Historic 13.1, which includes a half marathon and shorter runs.
