A North Carolina Man Faces 35 Charges For Attempting To Kill A Police Officer With His Truck

North Carolina man busted for trying to kill a police officer with a truck

29-year-old Victor Alfonso Elvira-Tapia is facing various allegations, including felonies, in four separate North Carolina counties. The Durham man went on a crime spree in a stolen Ford F-150.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol said he was running from troopers in a Ford F-150. During a police chase, he attempted to collide with an officer. He reportedly reached 101 mph in a 35 mph zone during the pursuit.

The charges include:

  • Two counts of felony fleeing/eluding arrest with a motor vehicle
  • Two counts of misdemeanor failure to heed to a light or siren
  • Two counts of misdemeanor reckless driving with wanton disregard
  • Two counts of misdemeanor speeding
  • Two counts of infractions driving left of center
  • Two infractions of failure to stop at a steady red light
  • Possession of a stolen motor vehicle

Elvira-Tapis is currently facing 35 counts in all, including earlier warrants. He is also suspected of shooting a man with a semi-automatic weapon and stealing a dump trailer in Granville County…
