SMITHFIELD — Smithfield’s annual Ham & Yam Festival returns on Saturday with a refreshed vision and a new approach.
“We started months ago with the idea of improving the festival,” said Heidi Gilmond, head of the Downtown Smithfield Development Corp., which stages the event. “We discussed what went well in the past years, what we could improve on and where we would like it to go.”
