DURHAM, NC – A weekend shooting in Durham’s College Heights neighborhood has taken a shocking turn: a 15-year-old girl has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a juvenile male.
UPDATE (May 6, 10:22 a.m.):
Durham Police have confirmed that a 15-year-old female suspect has been arrested and charged with murder. She is currently in secure custody. Investigators believe the incident was isolated, but the investigation remains active.
Initial Incident Report:
On Sunday, May 4, 2025, at approximately 1:06 p.m., Durham Police officers responded to the 300 block of N. Holman Street following a report of a gunshot wound.
- A juvenile male victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound.
- He was transported by a third party to a local hospital.
- Sadly, the victim was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Police have not yet released the names of either the suspect or the victim due to their ages.

Investigators remained on the scene working to understand the events leading up to the shooting. Authorities have emphasized that the case appears to be an isolated incident and are urging the community to come forward with any information.
