FSU holds on to beat Duke, reach ACC Championship game

The top-seeded FSU Seminoles will play for the ACC Softball Championship.

Florida State held on to beat the Duke Blue Devils 3-2 Friday morning in the semifinals of the ACC Softball Tournament at the Harrington Athletics Village in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. FSU improved to 46-9 with the win.

FSU led 3-1 entering the seventh inning but the Blue Devils weren’t gonna go down without one last fight. Jazzy Francik retired the first two batters before back-to-back singles got the tying run on base. Shortstop Isa Torres had a chance to end the game with a ball to short but was unable to field it, allowing one run to score and the tying run to get to third…
