Wake Forest Police Highlight Most Dangerous Intersections, Urge Caution Among Drivers

Wake Forest is on high alert as the local police department shared a sobering roster of the most perilous intersections in town. According to a report published by the Wake Forest Police Department, these junctions have seen a disconcerting accumulation of vehicular accidents between January 2021 and March 2025, as per the Town of Wake Forest’s release.

The most collision-prone intersection crowned the list at Capital Boulevard (US 1)/South Main Street/New Falls of Neuse Road which, was the site of 242 accidents. Following close behind in troubling statistics were Capital Boulevard (US 1)/Dr. Calvin Jones Highway (NC 98 Bypass) with 151 incidents and Capital Boulevard (US 1)/Agora Drive/Wake Union Church Road at 144. Other notable hotspots include intersections like Capital Boulevard (US 1)/Burlington Mills Road and Dr. Calvin Jones Highway (NC 98 Bypass)/South Main Street (US 1A), each tying at 141 collisions, and Capital Boulevard (US 1)/Stadium Drive/Jenkins Road, and Dr. Calvin Jones Highway (NC 98 Bypass)/Durham Road (Old Falls of Neuse), which, each saw 95.

It’s been determined that a mixture of inattention and distracted driving often contribute to these mishaps, urging police to call upon drivers to sharpen their focus and dial down their speed when approaching these intersections. In a measure to combat the trend, the Traffic Enforcement Unit didn’t hesitate to conduct a red-light enforcement crackdown on April 23 at the infamous Capital Boulevard and Burlington Mills Road crossroad.
