A California man has been sentenced to over a year in prison, followed by six months of home confinement and three years of supervised release, for making numerous violent threats against various individuals and groups in North Carolina. Kevin Day Dunlow, 62, of Huntington Beach, California, received the sentence after being found guilty of two counts of transmitting a threat in interstate commerce.
According to court records and evidence presented, between May 1, 2024, and May 16, 2024, Dunlow engaged in a series of threatening communications. His targets included an elected official, members of law enforcement, a church in northeastern North Carolina, and two synagogues located in Raleigh and Durham.
One incident on May 1, 2024, involved Dunlow calling the Wake County Sheriff’s Office dispatch, threatening a bomb at the office, and telling the dispatcher, “we’re going to kill you.”…
