Wild stallion at Outer Banks hit and killed by DWI suspect

At the Corolla Wild Horse Fund, volunteers, staff and horse lovers from across the country are heartbroken after the death of a five-year-old stallion named Alexander; the horse was struck and killed on the beach route shortly after midnight on June 14.

The tragic accident occurred in Raleigh, North Carolina at the Outer Banks approximately 12:05 a.m. south of Nags Head according to the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office press release.

Shannon Seamster, 26, of Carova, was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe when the stallion was struck. The horse died on impact. Seamster has been charged with DWI in the crash. She has since been released on a $2,500 secured bond…
