Outer Banks wild horse hit and killed by DWI suspect, deputies say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A wild horse at the Outer Banks was killed when he was hit by an accused drunk driver’s SUV early Saturday morning, officials said.

The crash happened just after 12:05 a.m. Saturday on N.C. 12 near mile marker 19, according to a Currituck County Sheriff’s Office news release. This is near the Corova area in the far northeastern part of the state.
