‘I want them to feel loved’: Mom and daughter carry messages of hope to other NICU families

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — Welcoming a new baby into the world can be exciting and daunting, but navigating the issues of having a pre-term baby adds another challenge.

Antoinyce Mathis gave birth to twins, Gordyn and Winston, in 2017. She spent 128 days in the neonatal intensive care unit. Just three years later, she started a small business called Notes of Hope, providing uplifting cards and donation programs to other NICU families across the country.

Mathis’ mission is to give these families hope and love during what she calls a lonely and scary time…
