Orange County is under a State of Emergency as heavy rains from tropical depression Chantal created dangerous situations across the county, including Chapel Hill.
The Chapel Hill Fire Department and neighboring agencies completed more than 50 water rescues, many in areas where floodwaters entered or threatened to enter apartments, officials said. More than 60 people were displaced Sunday and Monday.
