Illegal citizen in Wake County to serve over 10 years in prison for meth distribution

SPRING HOPE, N.C. (WNCT) — According to the Nash County Sherriff’s Office, 25-year-old Daniel Oswaldo Santos-Soto has been sentenced to 130 months in prison methamphetamine possession with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm.

On August 28, 2023, the Nash County Sheriff’s Office sent an officer undercover to purchase methamphetamine from Santos-Soto at a gas station in Spring Hope, NC. When Santos-Soto arrived with around 10 ounces of methamphetamine, he was arrested. After a search of his vehicle, 83.61 grams of pure methamphetamine packaged in four plastic bags and a SKS rifle were found in the backseat of the car.

Santos-Soto is a citizen of Mexico, who crossed the border into the United States in 2017. He has been a resident of Wake County since, with no criminal record until the arrest in 2023 occurred. Santos-Soto plead guilty to all charges on April 14…
