Teen Jalyssa Walker crowned Miss North Carolina, set for national pageant

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WNCN) — A teenager from Wake Forest is set to represent North Carolina on a national stage.

Jalyssa Walker, a rising sophomore at Millbrook High School in Raleigh, was recently crowned National American Miss North Carolina Junior Teen. She began competing in pageants just last year, and her crowning moment left her speechless.

“First, I was in shock, can’t stop smiling, and as I’m walking over to the previous queen, she puts the crown on my head, I started bawling on stage,” she said…
