Two Suspects Arrested in Wake County for Murder and Drug Conspiracy in Shooting of Juvenile

Two arrests have been made in connection with the fatal shooting of a juvenile in Wake County. ABC11 reports Tra’von McArthur, 29, was taken into custody Tuesday on charges including murder and conspiracy to sell and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance. Devonte Gary, 32, surrendered at the Nash County Detention Facility Monday, facing charges related to the conspiracy to sell and deliver the same controlled substance.

The incident occurred on July 9 near the intersection of Knightdale Boulevard and Hodge Road. Found with a fatal gunshot wound, the juvenile passed away the following day, as stated by the Wake County Sheriff’s Office. The victim was later identified as Jakai Robinson by the same authorities, according to a warrant filed by the office and reported by CBS17.

Details from the warrant, as mentioned by CBS17, suggest that McArthur was involved in a drug transaction with Gary and an individual known as “J.R.” on the day of the shooting, intending to sell and deliver half an ounce of marijuana.
