HALIFAX, N.C. (WNCN) — Deputies announced Tuesday that three men from Raleigh are facing several drug trafficking charges after 1.5 kilograms of marijuana and “21 bricks” of heroin were found in the panels of a Toyota Rav-4 on I-95 in Halifax.
According to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, deputies made a traffic stop on the Rav-4 around 9:45 p.m. Monday on I-95 near mile marker 168. Court records said the driver of the SUV failed to maintain its lane on the highway.
Deputies said they used a modern instrument that “helps detect hidden contraband” to find 1,553 grams of suspected marijuana and 1,050 bundles — also known as 21 bricks — of suspected heroin inside the body of the Rav-4…
