NCDMV looks to hire 40 examiners to combat long waits

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — As drivers continue to experience frustratingly long wait times at the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles, the agency is looking to hire dozens of new examiners thanks to funding from the recently signed mini budget.

“I had to make sure I had the kids dropped off at daycare, and made sure I’m all in line and good, and my hair even got frizzy just from standing out here, so I’m not going to have a good picture,” said Davida Hemphill, who walked in at the Spring Forest Road location in Raleigh Wednesday.
