RALEIGH — A Johnston County man faces felony charges in what investigators say was a scheme to defraud travel insurance companies of nearly $1 million.
Special agents with the N.C. Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division arrested Michael Gerard Renna, 50, of 258 Chatsworth Lane, Clayton, on Aug. 15.
He faces 26 counts of insurance fraud, 18 counts of obtaining property by false pretense and 10 counts of trying to obtain property by false pretense. All are felony charges…
