Wanted Durham man arrested in Craven County

CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. (WNCT) — Law enforcement officers with the Craven County Sheriff’s Office and the New Bern Police Department arrested a Durham man on September 13.

Deputies attempted to stop the car of 46 year old Monquel Darioco Alston on US Highway 70, due to him being listed in the National Crime Information Center as wanted. Alston fled on foot towards Lawson Creek Park. The sheriff’s office deployed K9 Dare who helped them catch Alston and arrest him.

Alston was charged with felony second degree kidnapping, felony extortion, felony assault by strangulation, assault on a female and misdemeanor crime of domestic violence. He was taken to the Craven County Confinement Facility where he was not given a bond…
