Early Sunday morning in Raleigh, an individual suffered a gunshot wound under circumstances that remain to be untangled by local authorities. CBS 17 reported that after the injured party presented themselves at WakeMed on New Bern Avenue, not far from Heath Street, a police investigation was promptly initiated.
The Raleigh Police Department, which responded to the scene at approximately 5 a.m., has since been working to piece together the events that led to this injury. The victim, having been shot in the foot, is thankfully facing non-life-threatening conditions. Yet, as it stands, no arrests have been made, and the public appears to not be at imminent risk, as highlighted by a statement obtained by WRAL.
Adding to the report, ABC11 adds another layer, noting that shots were also fired near a nightclub on Atlantic Avenue around the same timeframe; however, no injuries were reported from this second location.
