Family Of Fire Victim Launches GoFundMe To Cover Funeral Expenses

CLAYTON — The family of a Johnston County man who died in a house fire late last month has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover funeral and burial costs.

Randy Lingle, 72, was found deceased inside his burning home on Cooper Branch Road on the night of September 22. Firefighters from Wilson’s Mills, Clayton, and Cleveland fire departments responded to the scene shortly before 10 p.m. and discovered Lingle inside after extinguishing heavy flames that had engulfed the residence.

Authorities have said the fire appears to have been accidental, though the official cause remains under investigation by the Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office and the Sheriff’s Office…
