Woman shot by man picking up food order near Durham store, police say

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – An early-morning shooting near a convenience store in Durham sent a woman to the hospital on Tuesday, police said.

According to the Durham Police Department, officers responded around 7:17 a.m. to a report of a gunshot wound on the 700 block of S. Alston Avenue.

When officers arrived on scene, police said a witness told them that a man came to pick up a food order, but ended up shooting a woman who works at the business.
