Teen attempting to die by suicide saved by Wake Co. deputy who credits crisis intervention training

It’s been one year since Wake County deputy Anthony Garcia helped save a teenager’s life. He said it was late at night when he saw a 15-year-old boy hanging over the ledge of the Neuse River.

“He was visibly upset, and he was crying a lot,” Garcia said. “I just knew that I needed to be very personable.”
