Raleigh’s N.C. State Fair is getting a special visitor today, and it’s none other than the North Carolina Insurance Commissioner, Mike Causey. Slated for a couple of public engagements, Causey’s schedule includes a check presentation to the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina (IIANC) and attendance at the fair’s opening ceremonies. The fair, known for bringing together agriculture, crafts, and entertainment, is kicking off its festivities with a touch of officialdom.
Set to start at 10 a.m., Commissioner Causey will be at the fairgrounds, specifically at the department’s booth in the Gov. Kerr Scott Building for a presentation involving a check with insurance agents from the IIANC. Walking the grounds, attending the check presentation is the Commissioner’s first event for the day before making his way to the Tobacco Pavilion.
Following the morning’s financial formalities, the Commissioner will be present for the ceremonial ribbon-cutting. The opening ceremonies are planned for 11 a.m. in the Tobacco Pavilion, located in Pitzer Heritage Circle on the fairgrounds’ west side.
