Woman charged after 1-year-old baby overdoses on fentanyl in Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Ten months after a child suffered a fentanyl overdose, a 37-year-old Fayetteville woman has been arrested for negligent child abuse.

The arrest warrant for Devvan Marie Freeman states that on Dec. 7, 2024, she “showed a reckless disregard for human life by leaving the child in a place where fentanyl is freely used and loosely stored.”
