North Carolina man dies after being hit by 2 cars, police say

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A man is dead after being struck by two vehicles in Durham early Saturday morning, police said.

According to the Durham Police Department, the man was walking in the road of the 3800 block of South Miami Boulevard around 4:20 a.m. when he was hit by a 2016 Honda Accord traveling north. The man was not in a crosswalk or near an intersection at the time of the crash.

Police said the driver of the Honda Accord called 911 about the crash.

While first responders were heading to the scene, according to Durham police, the man was hit a second time by an unknown vehicle traveling north that left the scene.

The man, 55-year-old Ernest Howard of Fayetteville, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Durham police…
