HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. (WNCN) — The mother of a teen driver injured in a deadly wreck in Holly Springs on Sunday has identified her son, who is facing multiple surgeries.
Kathleen Russell told CBS 17 her son, 19-year-old Brandon Russell, was behind the wheel of the 2008 Honda Civic involved in the multi-vehicle wreck.

A Holly Springs High freshman, Max Dunham, 14, was killed in the crash around 1:40 a.m. when he was struck on a bicycle on Avent Ferry Road, near Holly Meadow Drive, according to the Holly Springs Police Department. The crash also involved two vehicles that hit head-on.
