RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A North Carolina family is still searching for answers after the murder of 31-year-old Fort Bragg Army Specialist Jose Melendez Jr., who was shot and killed in Raleigh during a night out with friends in 2017.
Eight years later, the Raleigh Police Department has yet to make an arrest. His mother Mara Ramos said there are still no suspects or leads and connection to his case. According to police, her son was not the intended target.
“It looks like there was a mistake in identity or it was wrong place, wrong time,” said Ramos. “The area he was killed is not a bad area, nothing like that has ever happened.”…
