RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The Leonid meteor shower peaked around 1 p.m. Monday afternoon. But there should still be leftover activity to view this evening once the sun goes down.
Each fall, meteors shoot across the sky at a whopping 44 miles per second from around the Nov. 2 through Dec. 3, with the most shooting stars taking place around this time.
Under dark skies and away from city lights, you should expect to see up to 10 meteors per hour. That may not sound like a lot, but any meteors you do see should be bright and very visible…
