Triangle restaurants closing, altering hours amid ICE/CBP fears. Here’s a list

The presence of Customs and Border Patrol Agents in the Triangle this week has led numerous local restaurants to suspend or alter operations until further notice.

From taco trucks, pizzerias and a German biergarten, restaurants posted messages on social media Tuesday, Nov. 18 saying they would be closed, adjusting their schedules or simply offering takeout meals. Some of the messages were nonspecific, saying little more than “unforeseen circumstances,” while most were pointed, depicting a community in fear and crisis.

Raleigh restaurants closed

“To ensure the safety of our staff, our customers, and OUR COMMUNITY, we will be closed for the next few days,” the popular Raleigh burrito truck Mr. Burro posted on Instagram. “We appreciate all the love & support we continue to receive. Thank you for allowing us to dish out fresh Mexican inspired breakfast. We give thanks to our staff for their hard work!! We are proud to be Latinos!! We are proud to be immigrants!! And we hope to be open again soon!!”

The taco shops Gym Tacos, G Tacos and La Superior closed Tuesday and made plans to close Wednesday, Nov. 19 as well.
